Previously cool people who are now parents debate things we’d have laughed at B.C. -- before children.

My house is not spotless either, but my I try to make my children pick up after themselves. Sometimes I feel that it is not worth the battle, but if I don't my daughter will have her collection of shoes all over the house and not in her room. I am fortunate to have my parents living with me. Mother is retired, but unable to do many household tasks. I try to have atleast 1 day on the week end to share with the kids doing something, but they must help out with the chores do this.
Everyone's circumstances are different. So what works for me, may not for you. The most important thing is how you feel about your home. After all, when I visit someone, I don't go to see their house, I go to see them. (unless they want me to see their new floor).

Doesn't matter how clean or dirty your house is anyway.
No one, and I do mean no one never comes on the day you cleaned and have a spotless house. Company ALWAYS shows up on the day it looks like a tornado hit! Sit back and enjoy your children, they will be grown and gone some day, and the dust and clutter will still be there!
